Betty J. Ross

Betty J. Ross of Beaver died unexpectedly Friday, July 9, 2010 at the Heritage Valley Hospital in Beaver.

Born in Wampum, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Edith Rush Harper.

Betty was co-owner of McMillen Employment and Personnel Services for 35 years. She was Presbyterian by faith. A graduate of Wampum High School, she also attended Business School. Betty was the past president of The National Secretary's Association, past board member of the Beaver County Small Business Bureau and past board member of the AMerican Heart Association.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Frank Ross Jr., whom she married on December 7, 1956, a son, Mark (Patricia) Ross of Hong Kong, a sister, Marlene (Davide) Hairhoger of Wampum, a sister in law, Ethel Mae Harper of Wampum, three grandchildren, Aiden, Emma, and Sophia Ross and many loving nieces and nephews. Betty was kind hearted and strong spirited. She loved an dnurtured her family and friends and will be missed by many.

She was preceded in death by a son, Russell, a brother, George Harper and a sister, Norma Gray.

Visiting hours will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 on Thursday, July 15, 2010 at the Marshall Funeral Home, Main Street, Wampum.

Funeral Services will be held at the Marshall Funeral Home on Friday, July 16, 2010 at 11:00am with Rev. Dr. William R. McGary of Wampum Presbyterian Church officiating.

Interment will follow in Clinton Cemetery.
