Betty J. Schubert

Betty J. Schubert, 88, of Cambridge St. New Castle, formerly of Enon Valley (Little Beaver Twp.) died on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at the Jameson Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.

Born February 20, 1922 in Enon Valley, she was the daughter of the late Elberta "Bert" Ross and Nola Katherine Himes Huston. She was married to the late Walter E. Schubert for 47 years when he passed away on November 17, 1988.

Betty came from a musical family. She was a gifted and talented musician who has passed her love of music on to her family and future generations. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, telling jokes, and a good card game.

Survivors include three daughters: K. Juanita Bish of New Castle, Claudia J. Brockway of Bessemer, Mary Etta (James) Foster of Lakewood NY, one son, David (Paula) Schubert of Enon Valley, a sister, Geraldine Kelly of New Castle, a brother, John (Pauline) Huston of Florida, twelve grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.

Friends will be received from noon until the time of the funeral service at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 18 at the Marshall Funeral Home Main St. Wampum. Interment will follow in the Bethel Church Cemetery .
