Edward F. Randza Sr.


Edward F. Randza Sr., 90, of Big Beaver Boro died on Sunday, January 17, 2010 at the Butler VA Hospital following a one year illness. Born November 14, 1919 in Rochester, he was the son of the late Joseph and Camilla Armen Randza.

Mr. Randza retired in 1980 from Babcock & Wilcox where he was an equipment operator. He also had worked for Freeman Motors doing auto body work. He was a member of the Queen of Heaven Roman Catholic Church. A US Army Veteran, he served during WWII. Ed was an avid gardener.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Harriet Winters Randza, three sons, Joseph Randza of Tennessee, Edward (Lynn) Randza Jr. of Koppel, Mark (Jill) Randza of Ohio, sister, Mathilda "Tilly" Randza of Friendship Ridge, sister in law, Jean Randza of Patterson Twp., two brothers, Joseph B. and Gene V. Randza, both of Arizona, five grandchildren; James Randza, Andrew Randza, Anthony Randza, Lisa Staiger, and Jeffrey Beaman and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Edith C. "DeDe" Randza on June 12, 2007 and a brother Frank "Cheech" Randza.

Visiting hours will be held from 2-4 and 7-9, Wednesday, January 20 at the Marshall Funeral Home Main St. Wampum. A Blessing Services will be held at the Marshall Funeral Home on Thursday, January 21, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. Military rites will be conducted by the Veterans Honor Guard. Entombment will follow in Williamsburg Mausoleum in the Beaver Falls Cemetery. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of the Butler VA Hospital for their compassionate and personal care.
