E Waneata Porter Van Kirk Rowlands


E Waneata Porter Van Kirk Rowlands, 71, of Portersville (Muddy Creek Twp.) passed away on Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh following a brief illness.

Born January 7, 1939 in Ellwood City, she is the daughter of Virginia Moore Porter of Portersville and the late Ralph J. Porter whe passed away on May 24, 2010.

She was married to the late Richard Van Kirk who passed away in 1996 and Melvin Rowlands who passed away in 2006.

Waneata was a member of the Portersville Bible Church. She sang with the Gospel Joy Belles and was a member of the Riverside Lions Club. She was employed for 40 years by First Federal Savings and Loan in New Castle and worked part time at Passavant Retirement Center in Zelienople.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by a brother, Ralph J. (Leona) Porter Jr. of Portersville, two daughters, Tammy (Gerald) Sharon of California and LaDawn Van Kirk of Portersville. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Chris, Brian, and Jordon Sharon and a nephew Jason Porter.

Visiting hours will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 on Friday, August 6 at the Marshall Funeral Home 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City. Funeral Services will be held at the Marshall Funeral Home on Saturday, August 7, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. with her pastor, Rev. Mike Charles and her son in law, Rev. Gerald Sharon officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery in Prospect.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Portersville Bible Church.
