Helen McBride Paden Scott
Helen McBride Paden Scott, 82, a resident of Country Meadows, Mechanicsburg, and formerly of Mt. Jackson, passed away Friday, January 29, 2010 at Holy Spirit Hospital. She was born April 20, 1927 to the late Leslie and Wylda McKinney McBride and lived for 50 years in Mt. Jackson. She was a member of the Grange, Jr. Grange and Westfield Presbyterian Church where she was active in VBS, Mission Group and the church choir. She was involved with the Girl Scouts for 50 years and was Judge of Elections for North Beaver Township for over 34 years. Helen also served as a volunteer at Harrisburg Hospital. Helen was preceded in death by her first husband, Fred L. Paden of Mt. Jackson. She is survived by her husband, John W. Scott of Mechanicsburg; her daughter, Sylvia Shoup, Wexford, and her son, Jeffrey Paden, New Castle; four grandchildren, Lana May, Judy Shoup, Barry Shoup and Tiffany Jones; and five great grandchildren, Sarah, Coleton, Brenden, Kelly and Austin. She is also survived by her brother, Mont McBride, and sister, Joanne Johnson, both of Enon Valley, three sisters in laws, one brother in law, and many nieces and nephews. Helen also had an extended family: James, Thomas and David Scott and their families from the Harrisburg area. Visitation will be held Sunday, January 31 at the Marshall Funeral Home, Wampum from 2-4 and 7-9. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, February 1 at 10:00 A.M. Interment will follow in Graceland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to City Rescue Mission 319 S. Croton Ave. New Castle, Pa. 16101.
