Richard R. "Rick" Wilson
Richard R. "Rick" Wilson, 65, of Wampum Ave. Ellwood City died on Friday, January 8, 2010 in the Ellwood City Hospital ER. Born July 15, 1944 in New Brighton, he was the son of the late Relman H. and Christina Bauer Wilson. Rick retired in 2006 from Alaron Corporation where he was the purchasing agent. He also worked for many years at Ellwood Upholstery. Most recently he owned and operated Thanks A Latte in Ellwood City. He sponsored many open mic nights for local artists and musicians. He was a member of Bell Memorial Presbyterian Church, serving as an elder and a long time member of the Praise Team. He also attended the Free Methodist Church in Ellwood City. A Veteran of the US Marine Corp, Rick served in Vietnam. He was active in Ellwood City Baseball, serving as a coach for many years. Mr. Wilson was an avid sports fan and he loved to write music and sing. His most precious joy was time spent with his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Karen Tritt Wilson, two sons and daughters in law, Richard (Barb) Wilson Jr. and Randolph (Mindy) Wilson, all of Ellwood City, three sisters, Nancy Hudson, South Africa, Christine (Bill) Livingston, Beaver Falls, Meridel (Alvin) Pieri, Ellwood City and many nieces and nephews. Seven grandchildren; Robert, Mandi, Michael, Reece, Rayden, Ashton, and Chase Wilson complete the family circle. He was preceded in death by parents and a sister, Barbara Smith in 1984. Visiting hours will be held from 2-4 and 7-9, Monday, January 11 at the Marshall Funeral Home 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City. Funeral Services will be held at the Marshall Funeral Home - Ellwood City on Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Bob Mitchell and Rev. Derek Longbrake officiating.
