Robert C. McAnlis


Robert C. McAnlis, 81, of St. Rt. 168 New Galilee (New Beaver Boro) died on Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at the Avalon Nursing Center.

Born March 26, 1929 in New Beaver Boro, he was the son of the late William S. and Mae Jenkins McAnlis.

He has been married to Phillis Scala McAnlis for 47 years. Robert was a lifelong farmer. He formerly worked a dairy, then a beef farm. He also worked as a cattle hauler. Mr. McAnlis was a member of the Moravia Presbyterian Church and a former member of the Galilean Presbyterian Church. He was a Veteran of the US Army. and enjoyed hunting, fishing, square-dancing, bowling and traveling.

In addition to his wife, Phillis, he is survived by two children, Faye L. McAnlis and Steve R. McAnlis, both of New Galilee, two sisters: Dorothy English of Baltimore, MD, Marjorie (Clair) Miller of Princeton, three brothers, Wayne (Lois) McAnlis of New Galilee, Ralph McAnlis of Edinburg, and Lee (Bettie) McAnlis of Arizona.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Marie Morrow, Lillie Mae McAnlis, and his twin sister, Roberta Clara McAnlis, and two brothers, Paul and Dale McAnlis.

A Memorial Services will be held at the Moravia Presbyterian Church on Saturday, May 29, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. with his pastor, Rev. Teresa Kendall officiating. Interment will be in the Union Reformed Presbyterian in New Galilee. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the Moravia Presbyterian Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Marshall Funeral Home, Wampum.

Precious Phyllis, Faye, and Steven, I was so surprised to hear of Bob's death. I know you are wondering what life will be like w/o him for the rest of your future. May many wonderful memories flood your mind and heart in the days ahead. I will always remember Bob pitching softball at the McAnlis reunions. May God bring you comfort and peace.
