Wayne C. Beatty


Wayne C. Beatty, 81, of Beaver Dam Rd. New Galilee ( Little Beaver Twp.) died on Friday, February 5, 2010 at Heritage Valley Hospital - Beaver following a short illness. Born December 12, 1928 in Big Beaver Boro, he was the son of the late John and Mae Wahn Beatty.

He was married for 57 years to the late Ruth Ann Britton who died May 10,2007. Wayne retired as a millwright from the B&W, Koppel Works. Mr. Beatty was also a lifelong farmer. He was an elder and former deacon of the Galilean Presbyterian Church. He served in both the US Army and the Marines Corp. Wayne was a longtime Little Beaver Supervisor and a member of the Big Beaver Grange. He enjoyed camping, square dancing and working at Disney World following his retirement.

Survivors include three daughters, Kathy Folda of Enon Valley, Barb (Mike) Ferraro of Wampum, Jodi (Rich) Rader of New Galilee, one son, Don (Nancy) Beatty of Reading, seven grandchildren; Rachel Wallace of New Castle, Dr. Erin (Dave) Farragher of Boardman, OH, Jeremy Beatty, Kent State, OH, Tyler and Mollie Rader, both of New Galilee, Christopher (Erin) Bricker of Columbus, OH and Jeremy Bricker of Lisbon, OH, three great grandchildren and his special caregiver, Jamie Stuart. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Sam and Jim Beatty.

A memorial services will be held at the Galilean Presbyterian Church on Saturday, February 13, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. with his pastor, Rev. C.F. Hoffman officiating. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Galilean Presbyterian Church. Arrangement have been entrusted to the Marshall Funeral Home - Wampum.
