Lloyd A. Pfeifer


Lloyd A. Pfeifer, 79, of Bauder School Rd. Prospect (Muddy Creek Twp.) died on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at the Evergreen Nursing Center following a lengthy illness.

Born March 24, 1930 on the family homestead in Muddy Creek Twp, he was the son of the late Arthur J. and Eva Wright Pfeifer.

Lloyd retired in 1990 after 30 plus years of service for Halstead Industries. He helped in the formation of the Halstead Copper Plants in Arkansas and North Carolina. He was the Superintendent of Production at the Zelienople Plant for a number of years. He taught a Copper, Brass and Bronze Course at Butler Community College. He retired from the family beef cattle farm that he worked with his daughter, Lori Baker in 1991. He was a member of the Calvin Presbyterian Church, serving a number of years as an elder and usher. He was a member of the M & M Sunday School Class and the Calvineers. He was the former President and Chairperson of the Vocational Service of the Portersville - Prospect Rotary Club. His hobbies included farming, traveling and woodworking.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Barbara Brown Pfeifer, whom he married August 18, 1951; two daughters, Jodi Brackbill of Ellwood City and Lori (Wesley) Baker of Prospect and one granddaughter, Amanda Brackbill.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Lila Jean Pfeifer.

Visiting hours will be held from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the Celebration of Life Service at 12:00 on Friday, October 23 at the Calvin Presbyterian Church on Friday, October 23 with Rev. James Latta officiating.

Interment will follow in St. Peter's Independent Reformed Church Cemetery.
