Ricky L. Blaskowitz, 48, of Second St., Ellwood City passed away unexpectedly at work on Tuesday, November 14, 2017.

Born October 5, 1969 in Sharon, he was the son of Dennis and Emma L. Lutz Blaskowitz of Ellwood City.

Ricky graduated from Lincoln High School in 1987 where he was a member of the football team. He was a member of the Local 373 Laborer’s Union in Pittsburgh. For many years, Ricky served as the Union Steward. He was a Veteran of the Navy, serving four years during Desert Storm aboard the USS Sampson. He was a member of the Saxon Club in Ellwood City. Ricky was a sports enthusiast, he enjoyed watching and playing hockey, football and golf. He also enjoyed time spent with his Yellow Lab, “Sam”.

In addition to his parents, survivors include two sons, Brett M. Blaskowitz of Ellwood City, Justin G. Allen of Butler; grandmother, Hilda Blaskowitz of Beaver Falls; sister, Marcy Jo Blaskowitz of Ellwood City; brother, Timothy J. (Cristin) Blaskowitz of Puyallup, WA; and a nephew and niece , Jacob and Molly Blaskowitz. He also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and good friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Frank J. Blaskowitz; his maternal grandparents, John and Lorena Lutz; and an aunt, Erma Lutz.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday November 17 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 11 am. Pastor Dave McQuaid of the First Baptist Church will officiate. Interment will follow in Locust Grove Cemetery. Military rites will be offered by the Veterans Honor Guard.
