Carol Lee Hairhoger, 82, of Grove City (formerly of Shenango Twp., New Castle) passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at Allegheny General Hospital. God gained a remarkable woman whose life was filled with love, devotion, and joy. Carol was a deeply loving person, and that love showed in everything she did and everyone she cared for.
Carol was born on June 11, 1943, in Ellwood City to the late Matthew and Elizabeth Stevenish Kalac-Bowman, and she lived a full and meaningful life until December 27, 2025. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1961. Following high school, she married the love of her life, Arthur Hairhoger, with whom she shared an extraordinary life. Married for 62 years, their marriage was a beautiful example of commitment, partnership, and enduring love. Together, they built a life rooted in loyalty, faith, and family. He misses you dearly already.
Her legacy lives on through her beloved husband, Art, daughter, Kathleen Frye, and grandson, Robert Hairhoger. She is also lovingly remembered by her older brother, Richard (Trudy) Kalac, and her older sister, Dolores Santillo, with whom she shared a close and lifelong bond. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews whom she loved, along with all her dear friends.
She had a true appreciation for life and being active. She loved water skiing, playing tennis, and swimming-activities that reflected her energy and vibrant spirit. She also found peace and strength in going to church, where her faith guided her and shaped the way she loved others. She was a member of the ladies' group Wimodausis at the Scottish Rite Cathedral.
One of her greatest joys was riding her horse, Cheyanne. Those moments reflected her strong yet gentle nature and her deep connection to the world around her. At home, she was never without love-especially from her beloved little fur baby, Sofia, who brought her endless comfort and happiness.
Though our hearts are heavy today, we are also incredibly grateful-grateful for the memories, the laughter, the lessons, and the unconditional love she gave so freely. She will always be remembered for her warmth, her kindness, and the way she made others feel deeply loved.
Carol, you will always be missed and forever cherished. Your love lives on in all of us, today and always. May you fly high with those beautiful angel wings ...
Friends and family will be received on Saturday, January 3, 2026, from 2 pm until the Blessing Service at 4 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home, 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City. Deacon John Carran will officiate.
