Dale E. White

Dale E. White, 88, of North Sewickley Twp. passed away Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at the Ellwood City Medical Center.

Born September 14, 1929 in Wurtemburg, he was the son of the late Homer and Gertrude Challis White . He was married to Dorothy Patricia Vetica White for 62 years as they were married November 19, 1955. She survives.

Dale was a 1948 graduate of Lincoln High School. He studied and earned a degree in metallurgy with the American Society for Metals Institute. He spent his entire working career within the steel industry. He was first employed with US Steel, then Jones and Laughlin, and finally from the Insul Company in East Palestine, Ohio from which he retired in 1994 as the Assistant Sales Manager. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and golfing. He was a member of the Connequenessing Country Club for many years and later the Beaver Valley Golf Club. He and his wife, Dorothy enjoyed traveling to Canada, Florida, and South Carolina to visit their many friends. Dale was a Veteran of the Army, serving for two years overseas during the Korean War. He was a member of the New Galilee VFW Post #8106. He was also a member of Holy Redeemer Church.

In addition to his wife, Dorothy, survivors include two brothers, James (IIlene) White of Chippewa and Pat (Barb) White of Ellwood City. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews of the White and Vetica families.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Ray White in infancy.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday May 18 from 4 pm until the time of the Blessing service at 7 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City. Rev. Father Mark Thomas will officiate. Military rites will be offered by the Veterans Honor Guard. Entombment will take place at St. Peter’s Mausoleum in Holy Redeemer Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Butler Veterans Hospital or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
