David Paul Haniwalt, 64, of New Castle passed away Thursday, September 11, 2025, at UPMC Jameson Hospital following a brief illness.
Born January 12, 1961, in Oil City, he was the son of the late Robert W. and Janet L. Mays Haniwalt.
David graduated from Oil City High School in 1979 and then earned a B.S. from Edinboro University. He worked for 422 Auto Sales Online Auction's where he sold buses and cars. He was affiliated with the Risen Savior Christian Church in Ellwood City and volunteered with Joshua's Haven in Sharon and Prince of Peace in Farrell. He was a talented and accomplished guitar and harmonica player.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 13 years, Tracy R. Shakespeare Haniwalt; brother, Robert Haniwalt of West Chester, PA; two sisters, Janice (Kirk) Ronds of Marysville, OH, and Karen (Paul "Butch") Winters of Franklin; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, sisters and brothers-in-law, and close friends; Mark (Anne) Ruby, Julie (Roman) Amon, Stewie, Ernie Artista, Dave Hall, and Tara Evans his caretaker.
Friends and family will be received on Monday September 15, 2025, from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm and on Tuesday September 16, from 11 am until the Funeral Service at 1 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home, 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City. Rev. Matthew Bupp and Rev. James Johnson will officiate. Interment will follow in Clinton Cemetery.
