Debbie Jane Majors, 65, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, February 5, 2026, in her home.
Born in New Castle on April 6, 1960, she was the daughter of the late James Howard and Mary Jane Woods Wimer.
Debbie was a 1978 graduate of Lawrence County Vo-Tech and had a continued love of learning as she was actively pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.
Recently retired from Strayer University, Debbie enjoyed an active social life. She was a longtime member of the Chewton Polish White Eagles, where she could be found playing in the Women’s Pool league every Tuesday night. Debbie had many hobbies, including sewing and cooking new recipes.
Her greatest joy was her family; she was a devoted wife, proud mother and cherished grandmother. Debbie treasured time spent with her loved ones, especially moments with her grandchildren who lovingly called her “gaga” and “grandma”. Whether through sharing laughter, thoughtful gifts, or time spent together she made every moment feel special.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 44 years, Mark Andrew Majors, whom she married on May 16, 1981; three daughters, Jessica (Bill) Liva of Wayne, PA, Ashley (David) Rosenberger of Mars, PA, and Brittany (Aleks) Grocic of Denver, CO; two granddaughters, Callahan Rosenberger and Evelyn Liva; two grandsons, Devin Rosenberger and Mark Liva; brother, James (Sue) Wimer Jr. of Neshannock; sister, Peggy (Tim) Wilmes of New Castle; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Victor Wimer.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday February 9, 2026, from 4 pm until the funeral service at 7 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home, 341 Main Street Wampum. Rev. Mike Wimer will officiate. Following the service, all are welcome to join the family at the Polish White Eagles Club, 438 Oswald Street Wampum, for dinner and to gather and remember the joy she brought us all.
