Donald R. Aiken

Donald R. Aiken, 95, of Ellwood City passed away Friday, February 27, 2026 at Heritage Valley Hospital in Beaver.

Born October 23, 1930 in Ellwood City, he was the son of the late Oliver C and Mildred (Smith) Aiken . He was married to Esther Jean Aiken for 64 years when she passed away on March 2 2017.

Donald retired from the Ellwood City Iron and Wire where he was a layout man. A Navy Veteran, he served as a Seabee during the Korean War. Donald was a member of the North Sewickley Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed hunting, bowling, and traveling. In his youth, Donald enjoyed playing softball.

Survivors include three sons; Larry, Doug, and, Michael "Buck" (Vicki) Aiken; daughter, Cheryl Cortez, all of North Sewickley Twp.; brother, Bruce (Joan) Aiken of Shenango Twp.; four grandchildren, Lindsay (Chris) Samaras, Josh Cortez, Brittany (Bill) Hill and Devin Aiken; and five great grandchildren, Chase (Sapphire) French, Karter French, Presley French, Brynley Samaras, and Benjamin Aiken; and four great great grandchildren, Jeremiah Walls and Kayleigh, Anthony, and Sadie French and his special cat, "Whitey".

In addition to his parents and wife, Donald was preceded in death by a sister, Pat Kaldy and a son in law, Dennis Cortez.

Visiting hours will be held Tuesday March 3 from 3:00 - 6:00 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City. Funeral Services will be held at the North Sewickley Presbyterian Church on Wednesday at 11:00 am with Rev. Dr. Rebecca Collins and Rev.. Dennis Arndt officiating. Military rites will be offered by the Veteran Honor Guard. Interment will follow in North Sewickley Cemetery.
