Edna P. Miller, 88, of Frew Rd., Ellwood City (Slippery Rock Twp.) passed away Thursday, January 26, 2017 at the Butler Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.

Born July 29, 1928 in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Anna Mae Hill Park. She was married on January 25, 1952 to Orville Ray Miller who passed away July 4, 1996.

Edna was the switch board operator at the Ellwood City Hospital for 25 years retiring on July 29, 1990. Before that she worked at the Jameson Hospital in New Castle for two years. She attended the Lighthouse Assembly of God Church. Edna enjoyed traveling and riding motorcycles with her late husband. She also enjoyed working crossword puzzles. She was very close with her neighbors and always remembered to send them and all of her relatives and friends birthday cards. Her most cherished time was spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include two sons, Edward R. (Tammy) Miller of New Egypt, New Jersey, Terry L. Miller of Ellwood City; three daughters, Pattie (Steve) Kramer, Roxanne Miller Hoffman , and Denise (Michael) Kramer, all of Ellwood City; eleven grandchildren; and fourteen great grandchildren.

The last of her family, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Ethel Whiteman and Eleanor Burk; a brother, John “Jack” Park. She was also preceded in death by a daughter in law, Cindy Miller in 2015, a grandson, Derek Lee Crisman in 2003, and a great granddaughter, Ashlyn Mae Sanner in 2012.

Family and friends will be received on Saturday January 28 from 1 pm until the time of the funeral service at 5 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City. Pastor Travis Richendrfer will officiate the service. Interment will follow in Wurtemburg Cemetery.
