Gerald A. Chieze Sr.

Gerald A. Chieze Sr., 82, of West Pittsburg passed away Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at the Haven Nursing Home following a two year illness.

Born October 8, 1936 in Ellwood City, he was the son of the late Arthur J. and Evelyn V. Locke Chieze. He was married to Rosemarie Borzi Chieze for 57 years. She survives.

Jerry retired as a heavy equipment operator from the Operating Engineers Local # 66 following 50 years of service. He was a member of the Moravia Presbyterian Church and a Veteran of the US Marine Corp. Gerald was a member of the Masonic Lodge of the Craft, Westminster Lodge # 433 in New Castle. An avid gardener, Jerry and Rosemarie enjoyed traveling the entire United States in their Fifth Wheel.

In addition to his wife, survivors include two daughters, Sandy (Joe) Nardone of Ellwood City, Lori (Mark) Ostrowski of New Castle; two sons, Gerald A. (Leann) Chieze Jr. of New Castle, Thomas Chieze of Denver, CO; three sisters, Shirley V. Trott of West Pittsburg, Linda (Larry) Henry of Linesville, Judy (Tim) Davis of Linesville; sister in law, Ernestine Chieze of West Pittsburg; and one grandson, Nicholas Chieze.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Janet Papa and Beverly in infancy and a brother, Leroy Chieze.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Moravia Presbyterian Church on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at 12 noon. Visitation will be held from 11 am until the time of the service. Pastor Charlene M. Kennedy will officiate. Military rites will be offered by the New Castle Veterans Honor Guard.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Marshall Funeral Home, Wampum.
