Larry K. Brown

Larry K. "Boomer" Brown, 84, of Ellwood City passed away Thursday, August 21, 2025, at his residence surrounded by his loving family following a courageous battle with cancer.

Born March 29, 1941, in Ellwood City, he was the son of the late Chester D. and Marie V. Wehman Brown.

Boomer graduated from Lincoln High School in 1959. He was employed at Calgon in Ellwood City as a mill worker until his retirement. A dedicated member of Slippery Rock Presbyterian Church, he served as a Trustee. He was also a member of the Slippery Rock Cemetery Board. He enjoyed motorcycles, traveling, and wintering in Cape Canaveral.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 63 years Kathy Hughes Brown; son, Larry (Mary) Brown Jr. of Ellwood City; daughter, Amyjo Brown of Pittsburgh; sister, Noreen (Gary) Freed of Ellwood City, and brother, Roger (Marty) Brown of Melbourne, FL.

Visiting hours will be held on Saturday August 23, 2025, from 10 until the Funeral Service at 11 am at the Slippery Rock Presbyterian Church. Interment will follow in Slippery Rock Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the donor's favorite charity.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Marshall Funeral Home, Ellwood City.
