Larry Bruce McCaslin of Ellwood City, PA was reunited with his parents in the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on the morning of Sunday, August 24, 2025 at St. Barnabas at Beaver Meadows in Beaver, PA, three days following the 60th. wedding anniversary to his wife, Linda.

Larry was born on January 9, 1943 in Ellwood City, PA to William “Pat” and Esther (Welsh) McCaslin. Larry’s youth was marked by adventures on Wiley Hill and, later, his love of and excellence in baseball. He met Linda Fusetti at Park Gate Baptist Church where they made memories participating in Youth for Christ. Larry graduated from Lincoln High School in 1960 and served in the United States Army as a military policeman. After his discharge from the Army, he and Linda were married on August 21, 1965 in a newly constructed PGBC building.

Larry’s career was in steel. He began as a laborer on the open hearth furnaces at Babcock & Wilcox, eventually retiring as Vice President of Inside Sales for Greenville Tube in 2007.

Anyone who knew Larry could attest to the fact that he was a man of few words but one of great integrity, dedicating himself to being the husband and father God had called him to be. He “showed up” to every family function as well as all choir concerts, musicals, and sporting events in which his children participated, even coaching his sons’ baseball teams.

While his primary focus was time with his family, Larry enjoyed gardening, fishing, and golfing; citing two major life events as catching a smallmouth bass in the Connoquenessing Creek behind his house and shaking the hand of Arnold Palmer, or as Larry put it, Arnold Palmer shaking his hand. He and Linda also shared numerous escapades with their close friends “Wayne” and Evelyn Lutz. In recent years, when Larry was no longer active, he spent a good amount of time reading, with his particular interest being American history.

In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his brother Patrick and wife, Jeanette McCaslin and in-laws Felix and Margaret “Pauline” Fusetti.

Larry is survived by his wife Linda; son Dr. Todd (Stephanie) McCaslin of Beaver Falls; daughter Kelly (Sean) Stewart of Ellwood City; and son Sean McCaslin of Ellwood City; grandchildren Ethan McCaslin, Jonathan McCaslin, Katherine “Katie” McCaslin, Matthew (Emily) McCaslin, Elizabeth “Lizzie” McCaslin, Cole Stewart, and Libby Stewart; brother-in-law James “Jim” Fusetti (Mariann Orr) and nephews Darren (Oahn) McCaslin and Jonathan (Theresa) McCaslin.

A time of visitation with family and friends will be held at Marshall Funeral Home in Ellwood City on Saturday, August 30 from 10 until the time of the funeral service at noon. Interment will follow at Clinton Cemetery in Wampum.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Larry’s name to the Epilepsy Foundation or a charity of the donor’s choice.

The family would like to thank the staff of Home Instead, especially Lura Barnhart, and the staff of St. Barnabas at Beaver Meadows for the care they provided for Larry in recent time.
