Lois M. Jameson

Lois M. Jameson, 90, formerly of New Castle passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at the home of her daughter in Illinois.

Born April 30, 1928 in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late Doelbor and Nora Hays Reno.

Lois led a full and productive life, she graduated from New Castle High School, worked for Bell Telephone, JC Penney’s, and the City Rescue Mission. She married Carl M. Jameson and together they raised two daughters, Karen Jameson of New Castle and Marsha (Murray) Smith of Channahon, IL. They were married for 42 years when Carl passed on August 23, 1990.

Lois was a member of the New Covenant Evangelical Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and reading. She made over 100 baby bonnets for newborns. She also enjoyed traveling, her church, and volunteering. She selflessly helped others. Her most cherished time was spent with family.

In addition to her two daughters, survivors include four grandchildren, Carl Antoniazzi, Joy Zingaro, Shannyn (John) Smith and Ryan (Shannon) Smith; and six great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Shirley (Harold) Marshall and Evelyn (Ralph) Watt.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday May 30, 2018 from 6 to 8 pm at the Cunningham Funeral Home, Wilmington Rd. in New Castle. Friends will also be received at the funeral home on Thursday from noon until the time of the funeral service at 2:00 pm. Rev. Chris Curtis from New Covenant Evangelical Presbyterian Church and Rev. Bill Hunley of First Church of God in New Castle will officiate the service. Interment will follow in Graceland Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the New Covenant Church or the City Rescue Mission.
