Margaret E. “Peg” McBride, 86, of New Galilee passed away Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Avalon Place.

She was born March 11, 1931 and was the daughter of the late Mack and Minnie Minteer Cotton.  She graduated from Mt. Jackson High School. Peg married Mont McBride on August 26, 1949 and they enjoyed 63 years together until his death on January 8, 2013. Peg was a homemaker and cherished her family. Peg loved living on the farm and the country life. She enjoyed flowers, especially day lilies and iris and pie baking. Peg was a member of Moravia Presbyterian Church and served as an Elder. She supported the Women’s Organization and enjoyed the fellowship with them sewing quilts and lap robes.

Survivors include three sons, James (Debbie – deceased), Alan (Debbie), and William; a daughter, Kathy and daughter in law Linda. Her oldest son, Leslie died November 21, 2010 in a farm accident. She cherished her nine grandchildren: Carrie (Matt), Michael (Mandi), Jay (Tressa), Shelli (Sean), David (Shelby), Megan (David), Ashley (Mark), Nathaniel and Natalie; thirteen great grandchildren; two step great grandchildren; and two sisters in law, Helen Cotton and Joann Johnson.

The last of her family, Peg was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Harold and Clarence Cotton, and four sisters, Mabel Carnes, Bessie Mulchay, Glayds Shaftic, and Nellie Mielke.

Visiting hours will be held Tuesday March 6 from 4-8 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home 341 Main Street Wampum. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 11 am at the funeral home with former pastor, Rev. David Clark of Moravia Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will follow in Bethel Church Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Moravia Presbyterian Church.
