Millie Sosnoski, 89, formerly of Ellwood City passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at the Lima Convalescent Home where she had resided for the last nine years.
Born October 4, 1927 in Ellwood City, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Eleanor Lenarchiak Moczan. She was preceded in death by her previous husband, John Damato and also by her second husband, Vincent Sosnoski who passed away May 26, 2007. The last of her family, she was also preceded in death by two sisters, Stella Marie Sheeler and Helen Frances Prokop; and two brothers, William S. and Joseph James Moczan.
Millie graduated from Lincoln High School in 1945. She worked at area grocery stores for over 28 years. She was a former member of the Polish National Alliance in Ellwood City, the Saxon Club, and the Ellwood City Women’s Club. She also volunteered for the Ellwood City Hospital Auxiliary for many years. Millie enjoyed camping, crocheting, playing cards and bowling.
Survivors include a daughter and son in law, Kathy and Robert Thomas of Lima, Ohio; son and his fiancé, Martin Vincent Sosnoski and Valerie Steele of Struthers, Ohio; five grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 3 to 7 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 10 am at Holy Redeemer Church. Interment will follow in Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in memory of Millie, may be made to the Ellwood City Hospital Auxiliary.
