Shaelyn Beachem, 28, of Robinson Twp. (formerly of Ellwood City) passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at Allegheny General Hospital.

Born June 11, 1997, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of John Beachem of Portersville and Nan Wilson Beachem of Ellwood City.

She was married to the love of her life, Alex Coates of Stevenage, England. They met in Nashville in September of 2023 and continued a life of travel to destinations all over Europe. They married on June 20, 2025 in a private ceremony with just the two of them. At her bedside, Alex shared he would rather have these few years with his soulmate than a lifetime with anyone else. Our family is eternally grateful for Alex and the life he provided for Shae.

Survivors include her parents John (Darlene) Beachem and Nan Wilson Beachem; three sisters, Laurel (Ryan) Brest of Slippery Rock Twp, Lacey (Dean) Marks of Harmony, and Kyree Beachem of Ellwood City; four brothers, Austin (Samantha) of Portersville, Hunter (Kylie) of Hickory Twp., Domenick of Ellwood City, and Nico Beachem of Ellwood City.

She is survived by her nieces and nephews who were her pride and joy; Jack Brest, Jenna Brest, Ella Beachem, Caroline Beachem, Jeremiah Beachem, Ariana Marks, Beckett Marks, Hayden Beachem and Raylan Beachem.

Shae’s life work and passion in this world was her job as a Pediatric Transplant Nurse at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. She served as the lead for Donate Life and was a passionate advocate for organ donation. Shae was the president elect for the International Transplant Nurses Society in the Pittsburgh Region and a dedicated nurse and counselor at Camp Chihopi where she gave transplant recipients a weekend of normalcy and unlimited laughs. Shae was a part of Alpha Sigma Alpha at Indiana University of Pennsylvania where she began her foundations in schooling and philanthropy.

Friends and family will be received on Friday, April 3, 2026, from 4 to 8 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home, 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City and on Saturday April 4, 2026, from 10 until the Funeral Service at 11 am at the Calvin Presbyterian Church located at 615 Crescent Avenue, Ellwood City, PA 16117. Chaplain Richie Reeder of the Pittsburgh Children's Hospital will officiate. A private family interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Perry Twp. where Shae will be laid to rest with her grandparents Keith & Lazetta Beachem, Alleis Wilson, and sister Tessa Beachem.

Donations could be contributed in honor of Shae to “Pressing On”, a non profit that directly supports families of transplant children and other children under medical care at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. https://pressingon.kindful.com/

A final gift of tissue donation was possible as one last sacrificial offering on this Earth.

A Celebration of Life will be planned this summer to properly honor the impact that Shae has made on this world where we welcome all loved ones to gather and pay tribute to her beautiful soul.
