Wilbert B. “Dubby” Cunning, 74, of New Galilee passed away Saturday, October 9, 2021 at UPMC Passavant – McCandless Twp. following a short illness.
Dubby was born on August 10, 1947 in Beaver Falls, to Wilbert F. and Lillian Moore Cunning.
He served in the United States Navy, touring in Vietnam. He was retired from CSX Railroad. He also worked at Ferrante Upholstering in Wampum and was a bartender at various locations around the area for many years. Dubby was a member of the VFW in New Galilee where he served as a former Commander and Chaplain.
Survivors include his mother Lillian; son, Bryan (Aleta Schwartz) Cunning; daughter, Kelly Rae (David Carter) Cunning; two step-daughters, Melissa (Wisbith) Yerace and Clarissa (Wisbith) Schrantz; three grandchildren; Ty, Skyler, and Logan; three sisters, Cynthia (Cunning) Williamson, Karen (Cunning) Nulph and Arlene (Cunning) Jackson; two brothers, Harry Cunning, Clifford Cunning and many loving nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces.
He was preceded in death by his father Wilbert; sister, Diane F. Cunning; brother, Leonard J. Cunning and his partner of many years Judith Campbell.
Dubby was loved and admired by many and will be greatly missed.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday October 14, 2021 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home, 341 Main St. Wampum.
Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on October 15, 2021 at 11:00 am with Rev. Mike Wimer of the 1st Baptist Church of Chewton officiating. Military Rites will be conducted by the Veterans Honor Guard.
Interment will follow in Clinton Cemetery.
