Lisa Marie Stelter Oliver & Katherine May Thomas


Lisa Marie Stelter Oliver, 31, and Katherine May Thomas, 8, of Moravia St. New Castle died on Friday, January 20, 2012 at their residence following a house fire.

Lisa was born June 30, 1980 in New Castle, the daughter of Robert B. and Wilda M. Bartley Stelter of Wampum.

Katherine May Thomas was born June 10, 2003 to Lisa Stelter and Herbert Thomas of Cochranton.

Lisa graduated from Mohawk High School in 1998, where she played in the band. She attended Slippery Rock University where she was a member of the Drum Line. She completed her Paramedic Training at the Community College of Allegheny Co. She currently was a Paramedic Supervisor, Lieutenant for Medevac since 2006. She was affiliated with the First Baptist Church, Maitland Lane. A Veteran of the US Army Reserves for the past 13 years, she was a former member of the North Beaver Twp. Volunteer Fire Department and a CPR Instructor.

Katherine was a Third Grade Student at Shenango Elementary School. She attended the First Baptist Church, Maitland Lane.

In addition to her parents, Lisa is survived by her husband, Hector Oliver, daughter – Amber Marie McClaren; grandparents – James and Florence Bartley of Shenango Twp.; sister – Tiffany (Ken) Buckley of Shenango Twp.; father in law – Hector Oliver Sr of Puerto Rico; and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

In addition to her mother's survivors, Katherine is survived by her father, Herbert "Mike" Thomas and by first cousins: James (J.D.) and Dylan Clark, Kylie, Natalie, and Kenny Buckley Jr.

They were preceded in death by Lisa's paternal grandparents, Don and Mary "Peg" Stelter and Lisa's mother in law, Priscilla Rivera Pagley.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday January 24, 2012 from 2 – 4 and from 6 to 8 at the Marshall Funeral Home 341 Main Street Wampum.

Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at 11:00 am with Rev. Gary Arnold and Ron Lambright officiating.

Interment will follow in Parkside Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by Lisa's National Guard Unit, the 402nd Quartermaster Battalion of New Castle.

Memorial Contributions may be made to a trust fund that has been established at ESB Bank in Shenango Twp.

Wilda, Bob and family, my heart goes out to all who loved this beautiful woman and little girl. It will be a hard crisis to overcome, but eventually you will remember all of the good times and the smiles that I know you all shared. They will always be in your heart. I love all of you.
