Clifford E. Musser


Clifford E. Musser, 83, of Mosser Dr. New Castle (Shenango Twp.) died unexpectedly at his residence on January 2, 2011. Born in Mobile, Alabama on March 28, 1927, he was the son of the late Clifford P. and Vacy Myrtle Riegle Musser. He was married on May 29, 1948 to Zelma J. St. Clair Musser who survives.

Clifford retired in 1987 from the Aetna Standard Engineering in Ellwood City where he was a machine operator. A Veteran of the US Army, he served during WW II. He was a life member and past commander of the VFW Post 252, a member of the Veterans Honor Guard, a volunteer at the Butler VA Hospital, and van driver for the DAV. He was also an active member and director of the Ellwood- Wampum Rod and Gun Club and served on the Ellwood City Memorial Day Parade Committee.

In addition to his wife, Zelma, he is survived by two sons, Charles E. Musser of St. Cloud, Florida, Robert Joe (Esther Kelly) Musser of Ellwood City, a daughter in law, Linda Musser of Shenango Twp., sister, Catherine Walters of Canton, Ohio, two grandchildren, James P. Musser Jr and Hope Charity Beeler, and six great grandchildren; Darryl, Austin, Bryanna, Lee Ann, David, and William.

He was preceded in death by a son, James P. Musser on May 21, 2010, brother, Leo Musser, sister, Alma Pansy Hufnagel, a sister in infancy and a grandson, John Joseph Kelly.

Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at the Marshall Funeral Home, 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City. Rev. Tod Custer will officiate. Military rites will be offered for their comrade by the Veterans Honor Guard.
