Dorothy L. Curtis

Dorothy L. Curtis, 91, of North Sewickley Twp.died on Sunday, October 2, 2011 at the Ellwood City Hospital following a brief illness.

Born April 9, 1920 in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Jesse and Eva Schmidt Swoger.

Dorothy married Harold L. Curtis Sr. on October 16, 1936. He passed away on January 21, 1983.

Dorothy enjoyed knitting and puzzle books. She was Protestant by faith.

Survivors include 3 daughters - Virginia L. (Tom) Cooper of Wampum, Patricia (Richard) Wiley of Fombell, Linda K. (Robert) Mains of Ellwood City; 2 sons - Harold "Sonny" (Loretta) Curtis Jr., Ronald W. Curtis, both of Ellwood City; 18 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, and 12 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Elsie I. McLaughlin; 3 brothers - LeMoyne, Clyde, and Delbert Swoger and a sister - Alberta Bender.

Visiting hours will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 on Tuesday October 4, 2011 at the Marshall Funeral Home. 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City.

Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11:00 am with John Wiseman, Pastor of the United Brethren Church officiating.

Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery.
