Edmund A. Flecher


Edmund A. Flecher 91 of Boardman, OH died unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Boardman.

Born in Cecil, PA, he was the son of the late Anthony and Julia Biega Flecher. Ed was married for 66 years to the late Gertrude A. Olszak Flecher who passed away on June 1, 2007.

Mr. Flecher retired from Babcock and Wilcox, primarily in the Koppel Plant, where he was a crane man. He served in the US Navy during WWII. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and appreciated the beauty of nature.

Survivors include three daughters and their husbands; Linda and Jim Tamelcoff of Boardman, OH, Mary and Rick Rihely of Chippewa Twp., Alice and Jeff Falba of Austintown, OH, one son, Philip Flecher of Tampa, FL, brother and sister in law, William and Dorothy Flecher of Ellwood City, 5 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Chad Flecher, a sister, Nellie Hildebrand, and two brothers, John and Henry Flecher.

Friends will be received on Thursday, February 10, 2011 from noon until the time of the funeral service at 3:00 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home Main St. Wampum. Rev. Dennis Bupp will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery in New Castle.
