Elsie M. Conner

Elsie M. Conner, 93, of Conner School Rd. Wampum (Shenango Twp.) died on Thursday, February 24, 2011 at the Avalon Nursing Center following a short illness.

Born July 16, 1917 in Centralia, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Elizabeth Goff. She was married for 43 years to Wilbur H. Conner who passed away on July 30, 1983.

Elsie was a member of the Bethel United Brethren Church in New Castle. She enjoyed sewing, baking and reading. Elsie was an avid Pittsburgh Penguin Hockey Fan.

Survivors include 2 daughters - Elizabeth (Fred) Humphries of Wampum, Catherine Meyer of Chicago, Illinois; 2 sons - William P. Conner of Sharon, Walter E. Conner of Portersville; twelve grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Dorothy Brandon, a grandson, Richard Conner and three brothers and a sister.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday February 27, 2011 from 1pm until the time of the funeral service at 4 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home 341 Main Street Wampum. Her pastor, Rev. John Wiseman will officiate. Interment will follow in the Slippery Rock Cemetery.
