F. Evelyn Cummins Rider


F. Evelyn Cummins Rider, 86, of Concord Circle Rd. Beaver Falls (North Sewickley Twp.) died on Saturday, September 24, 2011 at the Ellwood City Hospital following a brief illness.

Born April 14, 1925 in Racine, PA, she was the daughter of the late James H. and Florence Thompson McClurg .

She was first married on June 26, 1943 to the late Clarence "Pie" Cummins who died May 5, 1974. She then married in May, 25 1985, Rev.Charles Rider who passed away on October 5, 1999.

Evelyn graduated from Beaver Falls High School in 1943. She was affiliated with the Edgewood Baptist Church. Evelyn was an avid fisherwoman, who spent her summers at Sandy Lake fishing. She also enjoyed word search books and crocheting.

Survivors include a daughter - Evelyn Lutz (Daniel C.) Webster of North Sewickley; 3 sons - William (Jane) Cummins of New Castle, James (Debbie) Cummins of Myrtle Beach, SC, Robert C. (Robin) Cummins of Racine, PA; stepdaughter - Dorislene Huston of Enon Valley; stepson - Paul Rider of Ellwood City; 11 grandchildren, and was "great - maw" to her 18 great grandchildren

The last of her family she was preceded in death by a sister, Emma Whitslar; 2 brothers -James G. and Wilmer E. McClurg; and a son in law, Thomas Wayne Lutz.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday September 27, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Marshall Funeral Home 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City.
Friends will also be received on Wednesday from 10 am until the time of the funeral service at 11 at the funeral home. Pastor Michael Coleman of the Edgewood Baptist Church will officiate.

Interment will follow in Grand View Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Edgewood Baptist Church, 430 Edgewood Rd. Beaver Falls, PA 15010.

Her life was worth celebrating, she was great lady.


It was a great privilege to know Evelyn and count her as one of our friends. HER smile and friendship will never be forgotten. It is wonderful to know that through Christ we have a hope of a grand and glorious reunion.
