Francis V. Ippolito

Francis V. Ippolito, 93, of Main St. Wampum died on Friday, November 4, 2011 at the Golden Hill Nursing Center following an extended illness.

Born February 7, 1918 in Wampum, he was the son of the late Jacob and Amelia Altieri Ippolito Sr.

He was married for 53 years to Mary Kathryn Lutz Ippolito when she passed away on June 28, 1998.

Francis retired from US Steel - Ellwood Works following many years of service. He was a member of Queen of Heaven Church. A Veteran of the Army Air Corp, he served during the European Theatre. He was a graduate of Wampum High School and a member and past president of the American Legion Post 749 in Wampum..

Survivors include a daughter - Patricia Freed of Wampum, PA; son - Kenneth F. (Donna M.) Ippolito of Wampum, PA; brother - Jacob Ippolito Jr. of Wampum, PA; 5 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by 3 brothers; Harrison, Robert and Richard Ippolito and 5 sisters; Nell MacDonald, Margaret Plink, Mary Ann Ippolito, and Josephine Enterline, and Virginia Adamo.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday November 8, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Marshall Funeral Home 341 Main Street Wampum.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, November 9 at 10:00 am the Holy Redeemer Church. .

Interment will follow in the Grandview Cemetery. Military rites will be offered by the Veterans Honor Guard
