Gerry D. Wahl

Gerry D. Wahl, 94, formerly of Ellwood City died on Monday, December 7, 2009 at the Friendship Ridge Nursing Center following a lengthy stay. Born May 9, 1915 in Ellwood City, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Mae Smith Redmond.

She was married to the late Melvin L. Wahl who died April 21, 1971. Gerry retired from Mayer China in Beaver Falls. She had previously worked at Isaly's and the Green Shear Bakery, both in Ellwood City. She was Presbyterian by faith and enjoyed dancing.

Survivors include two daughters, Sandra M. (Bill) Irvine of Palm Coast, Florida, Carol Sojka of San Diego, CA, son in law, Alex George of Beaver Falls, seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Darlene George in 2005, son in law, Gene Sojka in 2006, three brothers, Harold, Merle and Ralph Redmond, and a grandson, Jeff Taylor in 1980.

Visiting hours will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, December 11, 2009 at the Marshall Funeral Home 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City. Interment will be in North Sewickley Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to marshallsfh.com.
