Lucille K. Vansovich


Lucille K. Vansovich, 88, of Chewton, PA passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 19, 2011 at the Ellwood City Hospital with family by her side. She is now reunited with her mother, father, brothers and sisters together in heaven.

Lucille was born in Chewton on February 13, 1923 where she lived her entire life. She was the daughter of the late Walter and Josephine Wolowicz Vansovich.

She retired after 40 years at Shenango China in New Castle. She was a former member of the Queen of Heaven Church in Wampum and currently a member of Holy Redeemer. She enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening.

Survivors include two sisters - Agnes Mohr and her husband, Ralph of Chewton, Verna Yoho of Ellwood City; an aunt - Clara Lyerly of Beaver Falls; along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and many friends and neighbors, all whom she loved dearly.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers: Joseph "DoDo", John and Anthony "Tony" Vansovich, and sisters: Helen Syglowski and Maryanne Kurcon.

Lucille will be sadly missed by the lives she touched. She always had a warm smile and kind words for everyone.

Lucille's family would like to thank and express their gratitude to the doctors, nurses and the staff of the Ellwood City Hospital.

Visiting hours will be held at the Marshall Funeral Home - Wampum on Wednesday June 22, 2011 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, June 23, 2011 at the Holy Redeemer Church at 10:00 am with Rev. Father Louis Pascazi officiating.

Interment will follow in Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
