Mildred Beachem


Mildred Beachem, 92, of Northview Estates Ellwood City died on Monday, July 11, 2011 at her residence following a lengthy illness.

Born April 12, 1919 in Apollo, PA, she was the daughter of the late William and Cora Morgan Mahood.

She was married for 62 years to the late Virgil E. Beachem who passed away in 2003.

Mildred was an active member of Park Gate Baptist Church. During WWII, she worked at the Ellwood City Tube Mill. She enjoyed flower gardening and traveling.

Survivors include 2 sons - William (Leanore) Beachem of Weston, WV, Richard (Sherry) Beachem of Ellwood City, PA; 2 sisters - Gladys Whitesell and Emily Geibel of Butler; 6 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 2 sisters - Virginia Fratto and Margaret Corbin.

Private visiting hours will be held for the family on Wednesday July 13, 2011 from 1:00 pm until the time of the funeral service at 2:00 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City. Pastor David Childs of Park Gate Baptist Church will officiate. Interment will follow in the Grandview Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Park Gate Baptist Church, 2840 River Rd. Ellwood City, Pa. 16117.
