Myrna G. Badger

Myrna G. Badger, 97, formerly of Hazel Ave. Ellwood City died on Thursday, March 3, 2011 at the Friendship Ridge in Brighton Twp. following a brief illness.

Born March 25, 1913 in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late David H. and Erma L. Gilmore Smith. Myrna was married for 36 years to W. Lloyd Badger who passed away on May 5, 1972.

Mrs. Badger worked as a secretary for the Ellwood City School District in both the Wampum and Perry Twp. Elementary Schools from 1969-1982. She was a member of the Park Gate Baptist Church where she was the former secretary, librarian and a member of the Booster Missionary Society. She was a member of the Wimodausis Society, the AARP, the PSERS, the Rebekka Society and the Ellwood City Women's Club.

Survivors include a son and daughter in law, R. Raymond (Irina) Badger of New Brighton, two grandchildren, Robert Scott Badger of New Brighton, Brenda Hankinson of Mercer, and three great grandchildren, Zachary, Megan and Molly Hancock.

The last of her family, she was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Maxine Smith in 1922, and a brother, W. Gilmore Smith in 1990.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday March 8, 2011 from 4:30 PM until the time of the funeral service at 7:00 PM at the Marshall Funeral Home 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City. Pastor David Childs of the Park Gate Baptist Church will officiate.

Interment will follow in North Sewickley Cemetery.
