Ralph Coast
Ralph Coast, 85, passed away peacefully to join his wife, Julia on Sunday, September 4, 2011, surrounded by his loving family at his bedside.
Born, July 28, 1926 in Ellwood City, he was the son of the late James and Mary Urban Coast. He was married for 60 years to Julia Janose Coast who passed away on December 7, 2008.
Ralph was a loving and caring person who loved people and watching his grandsons play sports. He also enjoyed working in his yard and fishing. Ralph retired in 1987 from the Ellwood City Forge. He worked for 31 years holding various positions including Maintenance Superintendent and Plant Superintendent. He was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Ralph was a member of the Marine Corps for 8 years, serving in WWII and the Korean Conflict. He was a former member of the Ellwood City Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad.
Survivors include his son and daughter in law - Ralph E. (Gina) Coast of Ellwood City; 2 grandsons - Dan (Cat) Coast of Mt. Lebanon, PA, Jeffrey (Melissa) Coast of BocaRaton, FL; a sister - Margaret Lutz of Ellwood City; and by many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, Julia, he was preceded in death by 4 brothers - Sam, Alfred, Ray and Ron Coast.
Visiting hours will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 on Wednesday September 7, 2011at the Marshall Funeral Home 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Redeemer Church on Thursday, September 8, 2011 at 10:00 am.
Entombment will follow in St Peters Mausoleum at Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
