Serafina A. "Frances" Romano


Serafina A. "Frances" Romano, 89, of Oswald St. Wampum (Wayne Twp.) and formerly of Beaver Falls passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at the Haven Convalescent Home in New Castle.

Born October 20, 1921 in Freedom, PA, she was the daughter of the late Angelo Ralph and Nicolina Galucci Campese. She was married for 63 years to Eugene R. Romano when he passed away on January 9, 2007.

Mrs. Romano had worked at Mayer China in Beaver Falls. She was a former member and active with the Christian Mothers at St. Philomena's Church in Beaver Falls. She currently was a member of Holy Redeemer Church. Serafina was also a member of the SOI in Beaver Falls. She was an avid photographer and scrap booker, and enjoyed cooking.

Survivors include one son Robert Romano Sr. and his fiancé Tammie Fortuna of Chewton; two brothers; Sam Campese of IN, Bruno Campese of Beaver Falls, a sister, Sue Tolfa of Hopewell; two grandchildren; Robert F. Romano Jr., Amy Nichole Romano Dubois and her husband, Perry Dubois Sr., and two great-grandsons: - Perry Jr. (PJ) and Trent Dubois.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Josephine Gaudio and Ida Verosto, and one brother, Conrad Campese.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday April 8, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Marshall Funeral Home 341 Main Street Wampum.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Holy Redeemer Church in Ellwood City on Saturday, April 9, 2011 at 10:00 am.

Entombment will follow in the Williamsburg Mausoleum in Beaver Falls Cemetery.
