Carmella M. Pieri

Carmella M. Pieri, 98, of Old Rt 18 Wampum (New Beaver Boro) died on Sunday, August 22, 2010 at the Haven Convalescent Home following a three month illness.

Born March 21, 1912 in West Pittsburg, she was the daughter of the late Mike and Anna Diodata Fontanella. She was married to the late Otto Pieri who passed away in 1989.

Mrs. Pieri retired from Zieden's Clothing Store in Beaver Falls. She had previously worked at Benson's Clothing Store. She was an active member of Queen of Heaven Parish where she was belonged to the Christian Mothers. She belonged to the IMBA Club in New Galilee where she played bocce until the age of 96. She enjoyed traveling to watch her grandchildren's activities.

Survivors include two sons, Donald V. (Maryann) Pieri of Wampum, Alvin R. (Maridell) Pieri of Ellwood City, five grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.

The last of her family she was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Visiting hours will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 on Wednesday, August 25 at the Marshall Funeral Home Main St. Wampum. A Blessing Service will be held at the Marshall Funeral Home on Thursday, August 26, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in Beaver Falls. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at the Haven Convalescent Home for their compassionate and loving care.
